Quality and protection as one task. This e-learning shows what accuracy and integrity of personal data ask of everyone — not only of IT.
A customer calls to complain that for the third time post arrives at an old address. An employee discovers an e-mail address listed differently in two systems. A report is based on a table where a colleague made a typo. Each is a small thing, with major consequences for trust, processes and — sometimes — legal liability.
The Accuracy and integrity course covers two principles that often form one whole in practice. Accuracy means personal data are correct and up to date. Integrity means they are not changed without authorisation or by accident. Together they ensure decisions rest on reliable data and that data subjects can keep faith in the organisation.
Employees learn that accuracy starts at input. Asking the right question well, correct spelling, checking whether a field is mandatory. Updating is just as important: when a customer moves, when a file is handed over, when a new situation arises. The course shows how to recognise those moments and which routes inside the organisation ensure the change reaches everywhere.
Integrity is about protection. Who has which rights? What is logged? How do you know that a change was really made by the right person? The course covers rights management, audit trails and the role of versions. It also looks at recovery: what to do when a change turns out to be wrong, and when a recovery action itself must be reported.
Finally the course stresses that accuracy and integrity are not only IT work. Every employee who enters, reads or forwards data contributes — or does not.
The core message is clear: accurate data is no administrative detail, it is the basis of professional work.
