Comparison

2LRN4 vs Awareways: which Dutch platform fits your organization?

Awareways and 2LRN4 are both Dutch. Awareways puts a programme manager next to the platform and calls that its distinguishing feature, while 2LRN4 is built so you can run the programme yourself without a project team. The facts are side by side below, with the source for each.

Awareways

Awareways is a company from Utrecht with the Wave platform, more than 85 microlearnings in 40 languages, game formats and adaptive learning by role and risk level. Simulations run through a separate service, including email phishing, vishing, smishing and a mystery guest visit. The company is ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 certified.

2LRN4

2LRN4 is a European security awareness platform that combines phishing simulation, e-learning and NIS2 governance reporting in one platform. Built for organizations that need evidence, cadence and manageability.

Quality of the training

A feature comparison says little about what employees actually learn. That is why we assess learning quality separately, on seven criteria with a fixed way of measuring each one.

Criterion How we assess it 2LRN4 Awareways
Instructional design Goal, scenario, decision, feedback and testing; independent review Every course consists of short modules with a scenario and ends with a test. 1,363 of the 1,390 courses in the platform have at least one test. Source: Count in the platform, 16 Oct 2026 Not established

For Awareways we will only publish a judgement after both platforms have been tested with the same cases and the same reviewers. Until then it says "Not established", because an empty cell beats a claim we cannot support. Checked on 2026-10-16.

When does Awareways fit better?

If you want a dedicated programme manager alongside the platform, need simulations beyond email such as vishing or a mystery guest, or have to train in more than 27 languages.

When does 2LRN4 fit better?

If you want to run the programme yourself without a project team, want to see pricing up front, or want to deliver the courses in your own learning environment with SCORM or LTI 1.3.

Frequently asked questions

Do you offer vishing and smishing?

No. 2LRN4 simulates phishing by email, with unlimited campaigns and custom templates in Freedom. Awareways also offers vishing, smishing and an on-site mystery guest as a separate service.

Do you also provide a programme manager?

Not as a fixed role. The platform is built so you can start without a project team and run the programme yourself. If you get stuck, our support desk helps.

Who has the better courses?

We will only say that once we have measured it, with the same cases and the same reviewers for both platforms. Until then the rubric above says “Not established”.

Can I deliver the content in my own learning environment?

With both, but differently. Awareways names LTI 1.3 with a fixed list of learning environments and does not mention SCORM. 2LRN4 uses LTI 1.3 with LTI Advantage for any learning environment that supports it, and also delivers SCORM in three variants.
