With the Video activity type you play a hosted video directly inside a course, without SCORM packaging and without a manual complete button. The activity completes itself once the employee has watched the video almost entirely.
When to choose a video activity
- For pure watching videos, for example a board video or an explainer.
- For interactive modules with questions and exercises, SCORM remains the right choice.
How to add the activity
- Open the course and choose the Video type when creating an activity.
- Upload a video file per language (mp4 or webm, 500 MB at most) or enter a video URL.
- Save the activity; no separate complete button is needed.
How the player behaves
- The video starts automatically when the activity is opened. If the browser blocks sound, the video starts muted with a hint on screen; the first click turns the sound on.
- The activity is registered as completed automatically once the video has been watched almost entirely.
- Anyone who stops and returns later resumes where they left off.
- Skipping ahead past parts that have not been watched yet is prevented.
Security
Uploaded videos are stored privately and played only through a temporary, secured link. A video file cannot be reached through a fixed public location.
