Basic GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation)

Personal data is often shared without much thought. A copy of a passport, an email address in a message, or a file containing customer data. Yet seemingly small actions can have major consequences for individual privacy and for organisations.

In the e-learning Basic GDPR, employees are introduced to the General Data Protection Regulation in a clear and accessible way. The course explains what personal data is, when a data breach occurs and what responsibilities organisations and employees have when processing data.

Through realistic scenarios, the course shows how data breaches can happen, for example through phishing emails, misdirected messages or insufficiently secured systems. Participants learn what warning signs to look for, how to recognise a potential data breach and what actions to take if something goes wrong.

The course also covers key GDPR principles such as lawful processing, data minimisation, privacy by design and privacy by default. In addition, the role of the Data Protection Authority and the Data Protection Officer is clearly explained.

This e-learning combines explanations, practical examples and knowledge checks, ensuring employees not only know the rules, but also understand how to apply them in practice.
