Categories

Add structure to your program: group courses by theme and manage access and completion centrally.

In 2LRN4, every course belongs to a category. Categories help you structure your awareness program and organize content in a way that makes sense for each audience.

Why categories?

Categories group courses into recognizable themes such as security awareness and privacy awareness. This helps employees quickly find what applies to them — and helps you keep the program manageable and measurable.

Control: manage access in one go

A key benefit is that you can grant or revoke access to all courses within a category at once. This keeps administration clean and scalable, especially when working across multiple teams, locations, or resellers.

Onboarding as a category

Many organizations use categories to structure Onboarding, including their own internal courses for new hires. This keeps onboarding content in one place and makes completion easy to monitor.

Real-world example: onboarding

Onboarding often includes a short course with the 10 golden rules employees should know before their first day. This sets expectations early and supports safe, consistent behavior from day one.

Category-based certification

You can link a certificate to a category. This allows you to issue a certificate once a user has completed all courses in that category — motivating learners and making completion easy to explain to management.
